The Russian army's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has highlighted the anarchist movement's unpreparedness for war, both theoretical and practical.
In the book “Anarchists About the War in Ukraine”, based on the podcast “Dogma: Uncomfortable Conversations About War”, Valeria Khotsina interviewes anarchists from across Europe about the ways in which historical and political context influences the movement's analysis of war.
The issues touched include unreflected colonialism of Western comrades, imperialist tendencies of Russians, lack of solidarity and the weakness of anarchist theory in the face of the multifaceted modernity.
Valeria Khotsina is a Belarusian anarchist in exile after the 2020 protests in Belarus. She is part of several anarchist collectives including publishing, anti-repression and diaspora-oriented projects.
Dialogue with Solidarity Collectives' activists opens the book and sheds light on their experience on interactions with different anarchist groups after invasion.
Solidarity Collectives is a group of Ukrainian anarchists who support their comrades fighting at the front and help those affected by the Russian invasion. With the values of proactive feminism in mind, many women activists are at the forefront of resisting the aggressor, actively contributing to military initiatives. International anarchists are also fighting and volunteering as a part of Solidarity Collectives.
The presentation will take place offline with online participation of Solidarity Сollective members.
