1. Duk Op: Activist event calendar
Duk Op is an online calendar for activist events. Find or create your own events such as demonstrations, debates, concerts, and art exhibitions. The platform’s goal is to promote community and organization without the influence of big tech companies, focusing on user power and ownership.
2. Organization of Duk Op
Duk Op is run by volunteer, unpaid activists responsible for local spheres in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Malmö/Lund, Odense, and South Funen. Each sphere has a high degree of autonomy to create a local style with respect for local knowledge. At the same time, each sphere is responsible for helping across spheres and ensuring that their moderation practices align with Duk Op's values and adhere to our shared guidelines.
New spheres are established by a group taking responsibility for moderation and local outreach. We meet online a few times a year. Contact us to learn more. The platform is funded through donations and support events. Financial backing is crucial to our operations. Regular support can be given via opencollective.com/dukop, where you can also view financial expenses.
3. Values
Duk Op is a platform that promotes community, mobilization, and organizing without the influence of big tech companies. Instead of commercial data mining and shareholder profits, Duk Op focuses on user power and ownership, creating a values-driven approach to activist events.
Duk Op supports a world based on freedom, equality, and autonomy, free from discrimination and oppression. We embrace activism, self-organization, and cultural projects that aren’t profit-driven. We have a broad political understanding and prioritize activities independent of political parties. We do not welcome profit-driven and parliamentary events but support local, self-organized initiatives that are feminist, anti-capitalist, and anti-racist.
Duk Op prioritizes places and initiatives that don’t have access to other platforms. We also only allow open events, except for separatist events.
