How can weaving become a tool for storytelling? What does it mean to weave under occupation? How do textiles preserve cultural memory and resist erasure?
Palestinian artist Lara Salous, known as Woolwoman, weaves with locally sourced, handspun wool — crafting narratives of heritage, resilience, and identity. On this evening, Lara will share how her practice is deeply intertwined with the land, its people, and the ongoing struggle against erasure.
In conversation with Danish artist and writer Amalie Smith, author of Thread Ripper, Lara will explore how weaving serves as a form of storytelling — encoding histories, reclaiming narratives, and connecting past to present.
Join us for a discussion that threads together art, culture, and the power of storytelling through textiles.
