PSA-STUDENTS: INTRODUCTION EVENT

Would you like to join the student movement for a free Palestine? Then come to our introduction day, Wednesday, September 4th at 18:00 at Bartholins Allé 3 (building 1252 - room 310), and join the fight! You don't need any previous experience with activism or academic boycott - everyone is welcome!

Why do we call for an academic boycott of Israeli institutions, universities and companies supporting them? Since October 2023, all universities in Gaza have been destroyed, and countless students and professors have been killed in what is now being investigated as Israel’s genocide on Gaza.

Aarhus University collaborates with Israeli universities such as Hebrew University (HUJI) including exchange programs where students are sent to campuses built on illegally demolished Palestinian land. Furthermore, HUJI has close ties to the Israeli military and a military base is located on its campuses. The Danish ministry of Education advises that such collaborations can be dangerous for academic freedom and should be established with caution.

Despite this, AU has upheld their partnership with HUJI, refusing to provide, upon request, evidence of their considerations as to why. AU also collaborates with the Danish weapons manufacturer Terma, which is exporting vital parts for the F-31 fighter jets used to bomb civilians in Gaza.

As students, we cannot accept that AU uncritically upholds these partnerships. In PSA we are fighting alongside other student organizations across Denmark, for our universities to listen to their students and staff and end their partnerships with Israel.
