A singing group for queer people that offers weekly rehearsals and provides a meaningful and creative space, regardless of your musical experience. The singing group will give queer people a space to express themselves and participate in a creative activity that is open to all voices, all genders, and non-genders.
The Queer Community Singing Group is a fun and diverse evolution of the traditional choir. We will be singing popular songs and in order to make the sessions more accessible, we will not be working from music sheets and will not restrict vocals to gender or voice type.
Queer Community Singing Group is a pilot initiative which began in spring 2023 and will continue into the autumn over the course of five Saturdays in September and October. It is preferable but not a requirement that you can attend all five sessions.
Queer Community Singing Group is free to participate, but we ask that you RSVP. There is room for 25 people in each session: 20 spots can be booked online and 5 spots will be accessible at the door on the day at a first come, first serve principle.
We suggest that you bring your own water bottle to keep yourself hydrated during the session.
ACCESS
Queer Community Singing Group is accessible to all voice types.
Please note that the main language for the session will be English.
