EMMA HOLTEN - Feminist Economics and Ecology

by Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke Aarhus

Feminist Economics and Ecology

Based on the equal worth of all people, feminist economy is a critique that tries to get to the bottom of the injustices of history, so that together we can create something better.

For what kind of life do we really want? What role should work and money play in our lives? How does it intersect with the climate emergency and the necessity of a just and sustainable transition?

Emma Holten is coming to Café Mellemfolk to share her work on feminist economics. The presentation starts at 19:30 and lasts one hour. It will be followed by a space for questions and exchanges.

Emma Holten is a feminist activist and gender policy consultant. In 2014 she created the project CONSENT about her own experience with digital sexual violence. Since then, she has worked on an array of subjects. Among them power in the workplace and feminism in art and literature. Since 2019 her primary focus has been feminist economics.

The GreenerFuture project aims at building a more sustainable and inclusive future by improving young people’s access to jobs and initiatives in the emerging green economic sector.

A key part in the project rests in the exchanges with and about the different institutions and stakeholders involved in the creation and reproduction of our economic activities.
