Cooperative Festival weekend 2022

by Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke Aarhus

Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke Aarhus is pleased to announce the second annual Cooperative Festival weekend! May 20-22 at Mejlgade 53.
This weekend festival is aimed at providing interested people - e.g. business students, entrepreneurs, small start-ups - all of the practical information on how to start your own cooperative! From workshops on financing and legalities, to workshops on organizing management and leadership.

The festival is also meant to inform people about what the cooperative model actually looks like, how cooperatives benefit society and the planet as a real alternative to the current model, as well as how cooperatives can be successful businesses!

We want to bring the topics of cooperatives back to the public debate, and to connect people to a network of local cooperatives, interested people, and experts.

Cooperatives are alternative business models that stand in stark contrast to the current mainstream corporate model which is....
just not working for us or the planet.
Because of their unique structure and organization, cooperatives can play an essential role in bringing democracy, equality, resilience, and societal well-being to 21st century societies and economies.
Cooperatives can take so many different forms! For example, a consumer food co-op, a worker-owned research think tank or brewing company, an art collective, ... and so much more! Bring your ideas (or just your curiosity) to our workshops, presentations, and discussions hosted by Denmark's top experts in cooperatives.
This festival is co-organized by Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke and Kooperationen (
Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke is a Danish NGO that works to promote democracy and fight inequality.
Kooperationen is the Danish employer- and interest organization for cooperatives and social enterprises. As a member-based organization Kooperationen works to promote cooperative ownership, among other things by supporting entrepreneurs to set up new sustainable, impact-driven and democratic businesses
