The Gaza Project: Is Israel deliberately targeting journalists in Gaza?
Come join IMS (International Media Support) for a talk on Israel's killings of Palestinian journalists, investigative reporting and international journalistic collaboration.
Monday, 16 June, you can meet Hoda Osman and hear about how 50 journalists from 13 media outlets investigated and documented the killings of around 100 journalists in Gaza.
Hoda Osman from ARIJ Network is one of the leading editors of The Gaza Project - a large scale cooperative investigative project where journalists from all over the would have worked together to uncover and document the killings of their colleagues in Gaza.
Joining us online will also be Gazan journalist Mohammed R Mhawish who for years has been covering the war and destruction in his homeland for outlets like The Economist and the MSNBC.
According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, Israeli military has killed at least 173 journalists in Gaza since October 2023. Some of these killings have all the trademarks of being direct military targeting of journalists.
With no access to Gaza for journalists, the people behind The Gaza Project have analysed a ton of open-source material to uncover the circumstances of the killings and have also worked with local journalists on the ground.
A ticket costs 50DKK and all profit will be going directly to support Palestinian journalists in Gaza. Sign-up via the link shown under "more info".
