On May 15th, Buthaina Shaheen lays out and examines the works of Ghassan Kanafani, to talk about the decolonization and resistance in Palestine today through an intersectional lense. How does Palestine intersect with other issues like imperialism, climate and global justice, across borders of race, class and religion?

Ghassan Kanafani is Palestinian resistance theorist who emphasized the importance of a strong theoretical foundation as part of resistance and decolonization movements. Today, Buthaina takes us through some of his theories and ideas, to help us understand the importance of knowledge and theory in the fight for liberation in Palestine and across the globe!

Buthaina Shaheen:
Buthaina Shaheen is a passionate academic focused on global interconnections, settler colonialism and minority studies. She has a PhD in Social Science and Public Affairs from Bundeswehr University in Munich and has authored journal articles in Oxford University Press and The British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies.
