Husets Biograf viser i samarbejde med Global Aktion en helt ny film om sangeren Mariem Hassan, hendes liv og karriere, som er flettet sammen med sahrawiernes kamp mod den 50-år lange marokkanske besættelse.

Mariem Hassan blev født i 1958 i Vestsahara i en nomadefamilie, der måtte flygte, da Marokko besatte landet i 1975. Tre af hendes brødre blev dræbt i kamp mod Marokko, og Mariem Hassans sange handlede om og var en del af kampen mod besættelsen. Hun boede en stor del af sit liv i Spanien.

Husets Biograf, Rådhusstræde 13, København viser filmen tirsdag den 29. april klokken 16. Filmen bliver introduceret af to af dens producere, Mohamedsalam Werad fra Vestsahara og Alex Veitch fra Råfilm, Malmø. Der er gratis adgang til filmen, og man kan købe snacks og drikkevarer.

JOIN US FOR A FREE FILM ABOUT MARIEM HASSAN AND THE FIGHT FOR A FREE WESTERN SAHARA

In collaboration with Global Aktion, Husets Biograf is showing a brand new film about the singer Mariem Hassan, her life and career, which is deeply intertwined with the Sahrawi struggle against the 50-year-long Moroccan occupation.

Mariem Hassan was born in 1958 in Western Sahara to a nomadic family that had to flee when Morocco occupied the country in 1975. Three of her brothers were killed in battle against Morocco, and Mariem Hassan’s songs were about and part of the fight against the occupation. She lived a large part of her life in Spain. Husets Biograf, Rådhusstræde 13, Copenhagen screens the film on Tuesday 29 April at 4 pm. The film is introduced by two of its producers, Mohamedsalam Werad from Western Sahara and Alex Veitch from Råfilm, Malmö. Admission to the film is free and snacks and drinks can be purchased.
