“We dreamed of nothing more than a life as simple as life itself.”
- Mahmoud Darwish
This year’s exhibition breaks with physical and linear temporality, addressing not only questions about photography as a physical or digital object, but also how we engage with photography today and the role of photography within a broader cultural context and image culture, transcending global connections, and across time and space. The participating artists are Before Forgetting, Ánitá Beikpour, Liesel Burisch, Lydia Ö Diakité, Javier Tapia and Barly Tshibanda / The Bridge Radio.
Opening: November 1, 5-8 pm

Abstract 'Exiting the Law and Entering Revolution'
The video installation created by Before Forgetting draws on the notion of resistance in relation to the pro-Palestinian movement. The work proceeds from the recognition that our lifestyles in northern metropolitan centres are built on imperialist and colonial exploitation and the violent preservation of an unjust hierarchy masked as 'global security' and the 'rules-based order.' The piece is a theoretical meditation on the idea of 'resistance' and where it is located in today's reality, and it engages with many valences and threads connected to this idea through. It is an extensive video installation that was assembled, highlighting the entanglement of Danish weapon manufacturers in the ongoing genocide.
