How to leave Meta: A practical field guide

Having recently ditched its professional fact checkers, Zuckerberg's Meta Platforms, Inc. (short: Meta) is waging what commentators have called "the war on facts", side by side with Donald Trump and Elon Musk [1]. Sounds just about the right time to leave Meta for good and never look back? Many people agree, but it is easier said than done: through such popular services as Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook, Meta's roots have extended deep into our daily lives. Leaving Meta's services will require some efforts - but supporting each other in the transition can make it so much easier.
This is why we have invited Maia Kahlke Lorentzen, an expert in internet culture, to present us with a practical field guide on how to leave Meta - and stay connected in the process. Maia will give a short presentation on the viable alternatives to Meta's platforms, after which we will have plenty of time for Q&A and group discussions. Everyone is invited to join the event - and let us join forces digitally in alternative spaces!
